Hi my name’s Howie Ju and I love to draw prophetic art. What is prophetic art? Do you know what prayer is? Prayer is when we talk to God by speaking to him with our mouths or with our hearts. Prophetic expression is similar but it’s the reverse, it’s when we allow God to speak to us. So prophetic art is when we allow God to speak to us through the Bible, visions, impressions, music, messages, or a knowing then express it out with art. For me, my art usually comes from all of the above but especially visions. A vision isn’t always an opened eye vision. It’s like when we close our eyes and let our imagination run.. but instead it’s God inspired.. Try it! Close your eyes.. and relax. relax.. just ask God.. “I want to see something with my spirit that is from You.” Many times the first thing that you see is the thing. Just remember that these things that you see is used for 3 things: 1.) encourage 2.) build up 3.) reveal. If the prophetic message that was given is hurting you or causes you fear, it’s not from God. Because God is Love and Love is God, in perfect love, there is no fear (1 John 4:18). Don’t worry if you can’t distinguish if it’s just you or God. After hundreds of practices, you’ll get better at it. I did. It’s a powerful and fun way to engage.
